A pair of Ohio State University football players are facing felony charges stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred last week.

Defensive backs Amir Riep and Jahsen Wint were arrested and charged with rape and kidnapping for the alleged sexual assault of a woman. The players, both 21, were booked into the Franklin County Jail early Wednesday and are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning in Franklin County Municipal Court, according to jail records.

During the incident that is alleged to have occurred on the evening of February 4 at the apartment that Riep and Wint share in Columbus, Riep and a woman began to engage in consensual sex before she stopped and stated she didn’t want to continue.

According to an affidavit with information from the alleged victim, Wint came in and asked if he could join before grabbing the woman by her neck and raping her while Riep held the woman down with his body.

After they stopped, a laughing Riep told the woman she needed to say on video that what happened was consensual, according to the affidavit.

“We are aware that two of our students have been arrested and criminally charged,” an OSU representative told CNN. “They have been suspended from all activities involving the football program. We will share more information when available.”

Riep has appeared in 37 games for the Buckeyes while Wint has suited up for OSU 35 times. Prior to this incident, both players both expected to return to the school to play their senior seasons for the Buckeyes this year.
