This week, Antonio Brown joined a list of infamous athletes that includes Maria Sharapova, Ray Rice, Lance Armstrong, Oscar Pistorius and Michael Vick.

What do they all have in common? Nike dropped them as clients.

As first reported by The Boston GlobeNike cut ties with Brown but refused to elaborate on the reason or clarify the timing of the decision. However, as The Globe points out, “signs suggest that recent allegations against the wide receiver served as a catalyst for why the world’s largest sneaker seller would want to disassociate itself from Brown.”

Nike may have gotten out ahead of time as more allegations against the New England receiver came out overnight and this time they relate to something that allegedly happened when he was a Patriot.

A female artist who alleges Brown made an unwanted sexual advance toward her in 2017 while she was painting a mural at his house says received “intimidating texts” from Brown on Wednesday after her allegations were publicized in a Sports Illustrated story.

According to SI, “the text chain, with four other phone numbers on it, included photos of her and her children, with the person she believes is Brown encouraging others in the group to investigate the woman.”

A lawyer for the artist has reached out to the NFL and asked the league to put a stop to Brown’s alleged conduct as it is “intimidating and threatening to our client, in violation of the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.”

The NFL has responded by setting up a phone call between league investigators and the woman’s attorneys.
