Entering his 16th season in the NBA, LeBron James is no spring chicken.

The 33-year-old has put a ton of tread on his tires over the course of his career and, despite showing no signs of slowing down, can’t run the floor for 48 minutes each night the same way he once did.

But that doesn’t mean his new teammates on the Los Angeles Lakers can’t.

James, who will have a good deal of influence in dictating how the Lakers play this season, said he anticipates the team will look to play fast and take advantage of the youth of core players like 21-year-old Brandon Ingram, 23-year-old Kyle Kuzma, and 20-year-old Lonzo Ball.

“You see those young legs out there,” James told Yahoo Sports. “We would be stupid not to utilize that as a strength. That’s just good coaching.

James also pointed out playing fast doesn’t always mean taking the first available shot or playing out of control.

An up-tempo offense has led to some problems during the preseason as the team has already turned the ball over 43 times in just two games.
