After bring the Heat to four straight appearances in the NBA Finals when he was playing in Miami, LeBron James will take on his former team in the final round of the playoffs this season.

To get to the Finals, Miami won the East final by topping the Boston Celtics 125-113 on Sunday night to take that series 4-2. The Heat got a great game from center Bam Adebayo, who scored a season-high 32 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the win.

“A great series. It was so competitive,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “I mean, in many ways, this was a seven-game series, just how competitive it was. Extremely well-coached and well-put together and we are just honored to be a part of that type of series in the conference finals, and then we get an opportunity for the next stage. Our guys will look forward to it. We’re going to try to enjoy it for a night.”

With the win, the Heat are going to become the only NBA franchise with six Finals appearances in the last 15 years.

James, who is making his tenth appearance in the Finals, has already won three championships, two with Miami and one with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is looking for his fourth NBA title, as is the Heat franchise.

The 35-year-old is going to be the first player to win a Finals MVP award with one team and then face that same team in a future championship series.

Game 1 between the Lakers and Heat is Wednesday night.
