The reign of King James in Los Angeles has been extended.

On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James agreed to a two-year, $85 million contract extension, the star player’s agent, Rich Paul, told ESPN.

Entering his 18th season, James is now inked to stay in Los Angeles through the 2022-23 campaign, which would be his 20th in the NBA.

James’s son Bronny will graduate in 2023 — and possibly be draft-eligible if the NBA changes its age requirements.

James, who turns 36 later this month, averaged 25.3 points last season and led the NBA in assists with 10.2 per game, the first time in his career he has averaged double-digit dimes.

In the playoffs, he averaged 27.6 points, 10.8 rebounds and 8.8 assists with five triple-doubles on the way to leading the Lakers to the NBA championship.

The title was the 17th for the Lakers organization and the fourth for James as an individual, who previously won a championship with the Cavaliers and two with the Heat. As he was during his first three championship wins, James was named NBA Finals MVP in 2020.

The next order of business for the Lakers in their quest to repeat as NBA champs is to re-sign Anthony Davis, which is fully expected to happen.
