The 16-time All-Star supposedly survives on desserts and French toast

According to one of his former teammates, King James has the diet of a glutton.

In an interview with Joe Vardon and Jason Lloyd of The Athletic, LeBron James’s former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Tristan Thompson said the NBA star’s All-Star physique has nothing do to with outstanding eating habits.

Talking about his old teammate’s diet, Thompson said James “eats like sh*t.”

“He has the worst fucking diet ever,” Thomspon told The Athletic. “Ask him what he eats for breakfast. He has like five french toast, drowns it in syrup with strawberries and bananas. Then he has like a four-egg omelette and then he goes and just fucking dunks on somebody. It doesn’t make sense. He eats desserts with every meal. He’s really a specimen. He eats desserts and French toast. It’s crazy how his body just burns it.”

Thompson’s assertion doesn’t exactly line up with what James said he eats during a given day during a 2018 appearance with his trainer Mike Mancias on The Tim Ferris Show.

“Yesterday, I had an egg white omelet with smoked salmon and gluten-free pancakes with berries. That was my breakfast,” James said. “For lunch, I had whole wheat pasta, salmon, and vegetables. And right before the game, I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. And at halftime, I had sliced apples with almond butter on top. Right after the game, Mike gave me a protein shake to put in my system right after. I downed that right after the game last night. And then for dinner, I had chicken parm with a rocket salad and a beautiful glass of cabernet.”

James is having one of the best seasons of his NBA career at age 35.

With a win over the second-place Nuggets on Wednesday — that saw James go for 32 points, 14 assists and 12 rebounds to notch his 12th triple-double of the season, the Lakers now have a four-game lead in the Western Conference heading into the All-Star break.

Regardless of what James is eating, the rest of the NBA has to chew on that.
