A Jake Paul-Amanda Nunes Boxing Match Might Happen

UFC boss Dana White said there was "zero chance" of a fight with McGregor, so he offered an alternative

Although he’s been unsuccessfully trying to set up a boxing match against Conor McGregor, Jake Paul may have the option of taking on another UFC star if he truly is looking for a fight.

Paul (2-0 in professional fights) has been lobbying for a fight with McGregor for a while now, going so far as to suggest he put out a $50 million offer to make the bout happen.

Responding to that, UFC boss Dana White said there was “zero chance” a fight between Paul and McGregor would happen. He did, however, suggest an alternative. “I’m thinking of letting Amanda Nunes knock his ass out,” White told TMZ.

Nunes, one of the best female MMA fighter of all time and one of just three fighters ever to hold titles in two weight classes at the same time, appears to be down.

In a post to his Instagram stories, Paul did not really address the idea of fighting Nunes and said White needs to “wake up” and realize that a Paul vs. McGregor bout “is gonna happen at some point.”

“Okay, Dana White, so let me try and understand your logic here. You say you don’t want me to fight Conor McGregor because he’s one of the greatest fighters in the world, and I’m just a YouTuber or whatever,” Paul said on Instagram. “But then, in a statement today, you say, ‘Oh, I’m thinking about having Amanda Nunes just knock him out,’ but she’s also one of the greatest fighters. Dana, you seem to have this thing where you hate on gamers, or YouTubers, or influencers, and us boxing and all this stuff.”

Were the bout between Paul (6′ 1″ and 189 pounds) and Nunes (5′ 8″ and 145 pounds) to happen, he would have the size, reach and weight advantage, but “The Lioness” would certainly have the edge in experience as well as skill.

Jake’s 25-year-old brother Logan Paul is set to take on 44-year-old Floyd Mayweather in a boxing exhibition match scheduled for February 20.
