Could Gronk find pay dirt as action hero, wrestler, comedy star or reality TV host?

You wouldn’t realize it, but Rob Gronkowski has an IMDB page.

The New England Patriots tight end had a bit part in the Entourage movie and was bitten by the acting bug. He appeared in a few other films (You Can’t Have It, American Violence) and is also in two movies coming out this year.

In one, a comedy called Deported, a Gronkowski plays someone called “Party Guy Jake,” according to IMDB. In the other, a sci-fi action thriller called Boss Level starring Mel Gibson, Naomi Watts, and, Ken Jeong, Gronk plays a helicopter gunner.

The difference in the roles is interesting because, though Gronkowski has a lot of charisma and charm, he wouldn’t seem to have much range.

That sentiment was expressed by Joanna Krupa, who was in You Can’t Have It alongside Gronkowski with Armand Assante.

When asked if Gronk would receive Oscar buzz for his role, Krupa answered: “Well, I mean, considering he was probably the only person that we had to tape re-take after re-take for his one line, so I don’t know. I think he was too busy focusing on the hot girls on set. To me, he’s not a big team player.”

Not everyone feels the way Krupa does as Gronkowski has been offered a role in an action-comedy starring John Cena called Playing with Fire.

But, as luck would have hit, Gronkowski turned down the role due to scheduling conflicts as production on the movie starts one day after the Super Bowl.

Though he couldn’t take that part, it certainly seems like Gronk will be able to score future Hollywood roles once he’s done scoring touchdowns.
