In this instance, hopefully your squad didn't make the cut.

For the third straight year, ESPN has put out its list of the 343 men’s college basketball teams that will not win the national championship this March in the upcoming NCAA tournament.

As is pointed out in the piece, the inaugural list omitted 2016 national champion Villanova and reigning champion North Carolina last year, meaning the round-up is perfect thus far in terms of accuracy.

If you’re a fan of 2017 Final Four participants Oregon or South Carolina, that’s not a good thing as the Ducks and Gamecocks joined 341 other squads on the 2018 list of non-winners.

However, if you root for Arizona, Duke, Gonzaga, Michigan State, North Carolina, Purdue, Villanova or Virginia, things are looking up as those schools were all absent from this year’s list.

Other notable teams that were unfortunate enough to make the cut include Florida, Michigan, Kansas, Auburn, Kentucky, Clemson, Xavier and Butler.
