Jarvis Landry is a Trade Target for ‘at Least’ Five Teams

It doesn't sound like the franchise-tagged wide receiver will be back with the Miami Dolphins.

After being given permission to seek a trade by the Miami Dolphins last week, franchise-tagged wide receiver Jarvis Landry has reportedly become a top target for “at least five” NFL teams.

The Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Bears have been identified as two of the franchises that are interested in obtaining Landry’s services, although the remaining three teams that would like to work out a trade for the 25-year-old wideout have yet to be revealed.

However, as ProFootballTalk points out, the presence of “mystery teams” in the Landry sweepstakes could be a good thing as it helps to create a sense of urgency and increases pressure for a deal to get done.

Under the terms of the non-exclusive franchise tag – which Landry has informed the Dolphins he will sign this week – the Dolphins can pay Landy for the franchise year or try to work out a contract extension with him if a suitable trade cannot be worked out.

Were he to play for Miami under the franchise tag this season, Landry, who had 112 receptions in 2017 to lead the NFL, would earn somewhere in the $16 million range.
