They say if it exists, there’s porn for it. Increasingly, it seems the infamous Rule 34 holds true for dating apps as well. From highly specific platforms playing matchmaker to everyone from farmers and Christians to celebrities and right-wingers, there’s a dating site for everything these days.
As of this week, that includes small penises — the people that have them and those who love them. Launched Monday, new online dating site Dinky One seeks to provide a platform to combat the harmful stigma surrounding below average-sized dicks, helping small penis-havers connect more easily with those who prefer a more modest member.
“Some men are big, some average and some below average,” said Dinky One founder David Minns in a press release. “Dinky One lets smaller men date people outside their circle of friends with the safety that everyone using the site is fully aware. Members can focus on shared interests and get on with dating.”
While it’s easy to read a small dick dating site as a gimmicky stunt, Dinky One actually comes as a powerfully body-positive addition to the ever-growing pool of online dating platforms. Despite a growing societal trend against body-shaming in recent years, small penises still seem to remain fodder for cheap jokes in sitcoms, memes and even emojis. The mere fact that many of us (myself included) immediately assume a dating site for people with small dicks is a silly publicity stunt points to the unfortunate fact that as a society, we still think of small penises as somehow inherently humorous.
Fortunately, people haven’t been shy about signing up for the site. Dinky One amassed more than 30,000 users in just two days, proving there are lots of small dicks in the world and plenty of people who can appreciate them. As for the rest of us, let’s all stop being dicks about small dicks now.
