The market for presidential memorabilia is vast, and — depending on the head of state in question — interested parties can often turn up unexpected items for sale from various leaders’ time in office. There’s an entire subset of vehicles tied to particular presidents that can be had for the right price. But what if the limo that once conveyed a president from place to place just doesn’t fit the bill? What if you have money to spend and want something a little more exclusive?
Turns out that’s eminently possible right now. Why? Because Donald Trump’s private helicopter is for sale. (To be more specific: One of them is. He owns several.) We should stress that this is his private helicopter; Marine One is not being sold off in a particularly surreal post-election moment. This is a helicopter that he used when running for office in 2016.
At Newsweek, Samantha Lock has more details. A Sikorsky S-76B is what’s on sale. The helicopter has been repainted to remove the Trump branding from it.
If you have a lot of money to spend, it certainly looks like a perfectly fine high-end helicopter. The Newsweek article estimates its value as being over $1 million, and both the interior and exterior look to be in good condition. It sounds like this particular helicopter will be returning to active use before long, rather than ending up as a historical discussion piece — but one never knows.
