YouTuber Arrested for Active-Shooter Prank at Florida Disney Resort

He told guests there was an active shooter then filmed their responses.

A 22-year-old from Arizona was arrested on Monday after he went around a Disney resort in Florida telling guests there was an active shooter so he could record their actions and post it to YouTube.

Dillion Birch was “highly intoxicated” while running up to guests and telling them they had to evacuate because of a shooter, according to the arrest affidavit. He then told people he was joking and wanted to see what their reactions were for a school project. Disney’s Contemporary Resort had to go on lockdown because of the prank.

Birch was found hiding in the bushes and was arrested for disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct. He has since been released on bail and was sentenced to three days in jail.
