The new trailer for X-Men: Dark Phoenix has arrived, and it promises a major villainous turn for Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner. Adapted from one of the most central epics in the X-Men universe, Dark Phoenix pits Turner’s Jean Grey against Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique, Michael Fassbender’s Magneto, and James McAvoy’s Professor X.

The character of Jean Grey, previously portrayed by Famke Janssen in the mid-2000s version of the franchise, harnesses the power of the Phoenix, a mystical entity, after the traumatic death of her parents. Turner appeared as Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse, in which she was mentored by the older X-Men.

Simon Kinberg, a major producer in the Marvel universe, will make his directorial debut with the upcoming movie. Dark Phoenix will premiere February 14, 2019.
