President Donald Trump wants to keep German luxury cars out of the U.S. market, according to a story on CNBC. The German magazine WirtschaftsWoche published the original report, which stated that several U.S. and European diplomats heard Trump speak of his plans to French President Emmanuel Macron.

Through Trump did not detail any policy plans, he told Macron his main goal was to keep Mercedes-Benz’s off of New York’s Fifth Avenue.

Two weeks ago the Department of Commerce announced an investigation into automobile imports, prompting some to believe that Trump could take the same approach to foreign automobiles as he has to foreign metals.
