This Brand is Sticking up for Children and their Lemonade Stands
Country Time launches marketing campaign to pay off kids' fines for unlicensed sales.
Kraft Heinz’s Country Time brand has chosen to join the not-so-contentious fight over children’s’ lemonade stands. Though police officers often turn a blind eye to kids who set up shop on public sidewalks or roads to sell lemonade, which usually requires formal applications or fees, sometimes they don’t. Recently, kids were seeing their homemade stands incur municipal fines or even get shut down, reports The Washington Post.
As part of a new marketing campaign, Country Time has decided to reimburse kids who have been fined for running a lemonade stand without a permit. The company will also cover the cost of a permit already secured until Aug. 31, or until $60,000 has been rewarded. Parents just have to send in a picture of a child’s fine or permit. All the kids have to do is explain what a lemonade stand means to them. This can be any fine or permit from 2017 or 2018. Country Time did note that they are not providing any legal advice or services.
