Adult film actress Stormy Daniels told Vogue in a personal and often revealing interview that her life has transformed after she came forward with allegations that then-candidate Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, paid her $130,000 to keep quiet about an affair she says she had with Trump in 2006 in order to squash negative press ahead of the 2016 election.

Cohen has since reached a plea deal with prosecutors in their investigation into the hush money and he’s implicated the president in the process, telling the court on August 21 that he paid Daniels “at the direction of the…candidate” and “for the principal purpose of influencing the election.”
But Daniels and the people around her say that the decision to come forward has made her feel like “a fugitive.” She’s had to pull her seven-year-old out of school and hire a personal tutor, as well as a legion of bodyguards for protection.
“The death threats—ominous notes mailed to clubs before she arrives; suspicious substances hidden in gifts in her dressing rooms—got so bad that she had to hire three full-time bodyguards,” Amy Chozick writes. “She calls them her Dragons and pays them with her tips. ‘We’ve been at restaurants when we order food and it’s taken too long or somebody was watching and we’ve had to leave—like that,’” Daniels told Chozick.
Alana Evans, another adult film star, told Vogue that Daniels’ life can’t ever be the same, even if she prevails in her lawsuit against Trump.
“If Stormy prevails and wins that lawsuit, she will absolutely go on with her life, but she will always be looking over her shoulder,” Evans said.
