A wild career has taken Jami Gertz from movie star to NBA over the course of 30 years. The actress famous for her roles in The Lost Boys and The Facts of Life has become the face of the Atlanta Hawks organization, after her husband Tony Ressler and former NBA star Grant Hill bought the club in 2015 for $720 million.

Ressler founded Apollo Global in 1990, an asset management firm that has placed his net worth at $2.1 billion, according to Forbes’ estimation. Since Ressler and Hill took control of the team, Gertz has seized the role as the team’s ambassador to the public. At this year’s NBA Draft Lottery, an event to which the 14 participating teams send a representative for their interests, Gertz appeared on behalf of the Hawks.

Among the couple’s first priorities as owners was leading the way on a $192 million renovation of the Hawks’ building, the previous Philips Arena which has been renamed the State Farm Arena. “I think it’s fair to say that she makes a better impression on our fan base than any of us in the organization,” Ressler said of Gertz.
