He’s not laughing now. Disgraced funnyman Bill Cosby is preparing himself to go to prison after a jury found him guilty of sexually assaulting Andrea Constand, The New York Post is reporting.

“This is what they wanted,” Cosby told the newspaper’s Page Six after Thursday’s verdict, insinuating that the legal system was maneuvered against him.

The 80-year-old Cosby, who long cultivated a squeaky-clean image, talked with Page Six over the course of the trial under the condition that they do not publish his remarks until after the court case ended.  He maintained he is innocent, insinuating that Constand is part of a conspiracy against him. He’s bracing, though, with the increasingly likely prospect of going to jail, which he called “that place.”

“When they send me to that place, I want you to be there to tell my story because it seems no one is listening, no one wants the real story,” Cosby said.
