She also said some women who shared their experiences with sexual misconduct just want attention.

Lindsay Lohan is critical of some who came forward with their stories as part of the #MeToo movement. The actress accused some women, all who shared their experiences with sexual misconduct, of only telling their stories to get attention, reports New York Daily News.

“If it happens at that moment, you discuss it at that moment,” Lohan said during an interview with the British outlet The Times. “You make it a real thing by making it a police report.

Lohan continued: “I’m going to really hate myself for saying this, but I think by women speaking against all these things, it makes them look weak when they are very strong women. You have these girls who come out, who don’t even know who they are, who do it for the attention. That is taking away from the fact that it happened.”

During the interview, Lohan, 32, said she had personally never had a #MeToo moment. In 2016, she accused her former fiancé Egor Tarabasov of abuse, one instance which was caught on camera. She addressed that event in her interview with The Times.

“I had a fight with my ex on this very beach,” she said, according to NYDN. “What did I do? Nothing. I just took over the beach. The best revenge is success, right?”
