Kim Kardashian West met with President Donald Trump yesterday to talk about the country’s criminal justice system and ask the president to pardon a woman serving life in prison for a first-time drug offense. Kardashian reportedly entered the West Wing around 4:45 p.m. and left an hour later. The reality star requested the meeting after learning about Alice Johnson, a 63-year-old grandmother who has spent 21 years behind bars after she admitted to acting as an intermediary for drug pushes, reports Page Six. Sources claim that the meeting went “well.” Kardashian was accompanied by her attorney, Shawn Holley, who is helping Johnson. She tweeted “Happy Birthday Alice Marie Johnson. Today is for you,” before the meeting.

During his time in office, President Barack Obama granted 1,927 clemency requests, but Johnson was not one of them.

Kardashian has been speaking with Jared Kushner about the topic for weeks. Trump has ridiculed Kardashian in the past. In 2013, he said on the Howard Stern Show, “Does she have a good body? No. Does she have a fat ass? Absolutely.”

After the meeting, Donald Trump tweeted “Great meeting today.”

Kardashian tweeted out as well, thanking the president and saying she was “hopeful” for Johnson’s future.
