It’s been nearly 50 years since Jim Morrison passed away in July 1971, and to mark the occasion — as well as the 50th anniversary of LA Woman — this summer, HarperCollins will publish the most exhaustive collection of the former Doors frontman’s writing to date.

The Collected Works of Jim Morrison: Poetry, Journals, Transcripts and Lyrics is slated to come out June 8, and it includes previously published work like poetry and song lyrics as well as unpublished material including unrecorded song lyrics and, as Rolling Stone reports, “handwritten excerpts from 28 recently discovered notebooks, and 160 photos and drawings (including rarely seen family photos).”

The 600-page collection also includes Morrison’s treatment for The Hitchhiker, an audiobook that includes his final poetry recording session from December 1970, and the contents of a notebook believed to contain his final writings before his death in Paris, reproduced in “full reading size.” Another notebook included contains Morrison’s thoughts on the 1970 Miami trial that resulted in him being convicted of indecent exposure and open profanity.

The book includes a forward by author Tom Robbins and a prologue by Morrison’s sister, Anne Morrison Chewning, and it’ll set you back $50. You can pre-order it here.
