Tuesday probably would have been a good day for 81-year-old Arkansas man Chuck Miller to buy some lottery tickets.
Miller had a lucky day on the links at Cortez Golf Course in Hot Springs Village as the elderly golfer notched two holes-in-one during the same round. The kind of lucky day none of us will even come close to experiencing. During his fluky round, Miller aced the 135-yard 12th hole and 138-yard 17th hole, using his 6-iron on both. The 12th and 17th are both par-3 holes and Miller has a 20+ handicap.
Miller said his shot on 12 was “great” but called the second hole-in-one on 17 “a complete fluke.”
“It never got much off the ground and hit the ground only about 70 or 80 yards from the tee,” he said. “Since the ground was dry and the hill sloped downwards, the ball continued to roll … Once the ball got onto the green, one of my playing partners yelled it’s going to go into the hole – and damned if it didn’t.”

Some estimates indicate the odds of getting a hole-in-one are about 12,500-to-1 while the odds of snaring two in one round are closer to 100 million-to-1, according to Golf.com.
