If you build it, they will come.

If that’s true, the small Danish town of Brande, which boasts a population of 7,000, should expect company down the road. Last month, according to Popular Mechanics, the city council green-lit a 1,049-foot skyscraper the 44-year-old Danish clothing company Bestseller wants to build there.

“When finished, the super-tall building in the middle of nowhere would be among the tallest in Western Europe,” reports Popular Mechanics. The Eiffel Tower, which rise up to 1,063, is still taller.

“It will be a landmark that places Brande on the map,” Anders Krogh Vogdrup, head of constructions for Bestseller, told The Guardian, according to Popular Mechanics. Construction is set to begin this year and wrap by 2023.

“For more than 30 years, we have been very happy to have our home in Brande, and we feel we are a natural part of the local community,” Krogh Vogdrup has said. The idea was is “to give something back to the town.” The building was designed by the Copenhagen-based Ramboll Group. Construction is expected to begin this year and finish by 2023.

The proposed high-rise, which is expected to house stores for Bestseller’s array of clothing brands, as well as offices and a hotel, is going over well with locals, including Ib Lauritsen, the mayor of Ikast-Brande. “It will undoubtedly be of the greatest significance for the city of Brande, but I do not doubt it will affect the whole of Central Jutland.”
