Georgia Lawmaker Who Exposed Himself, Yelled Racial Slur on TV is Resigning

Rep. Jason Spencer originally said he would serve out the length of his term.

A Georgia lawmaker will resign after he exposed himself and yelled racial slurs on comedian Sacha Baron Cohen’s cable TV show, The Associated Press reports. Rep. Jason Spencer had originally vowed to serve out his term despite fallout, but now, a spokesperson announced that Spencer will step down at the end of the month.

In Sunday night’s broadcast of Cohen’s Showtime series, Who is America?, Cohen posed as an Israeli military expert who persuaded Spencer to take part in several ridiculous exercises. Cohen told Specer they were making a counterterrorism video. Spencer repeatedly shouted a racial slur for black people after Cohen told him the tactic is useful for drawing bystanders’ attention to an unfolding attack, reports AP.

Spencer also dropped his pants and then his underwear before backing his exposed rear end toward Cohen while shouting “USA!” and “America!” Cohen told Spencer that this trick would alarm homophobic jihadists.

The segment also showed Spencer speaking with a mock Asian accent while using a selfie-stick in an attempt to insert a camera phone between the legs of a woman dressed in traditional Muslim clothing.
