It didn’t take long for actress Constance Wu’s unexpected response to her ABC sitcom Fresh Off the Boat’s renewal announcement on Friday to become something that was no laughing matter. “So upset right now that I’m literally crying,” tweeted Wu. “Ugg. F—.” To underscore her apparently negative sentiment about setting sail for Season 6 of the series she commented “dislike” on the TV show’s’ Instagram photo, reports Variety. More work? On a prime-time show? What’s not to like?

Less than an hour following her initial postings, Wu, who starred in the hit movie Crazy Rich Asians, took to Twitter to clarify the reactions to her postings that the renewal wasn’t great news. “Y’all are making a lot of assumptions about what I was saying. And no, it’s not what it’s about. No it’s not..what this is all about. Stop assuming.”

Whether for clarification or damage control or both, Wu added that her original profanity-laced tweets were the result of a “rough day & were ill time w/ the news of the show,” according to Variety. “Im so grateful for FOTV renewal. I love the cast & crew. Im proud to be a part of it. For all the fans support, thank u & for all who support my casual use of the word f— thank u too.”
