The first trailer for the Transformers prequel Bumblebee has arrived and it’s hardly recognizable. Notably low on on-screen explosions—Michael Bay isn’t helming the production, Travis Knight is—this more heartfelt story is set more than 30 years ago in a 1987 California beach town. The movie’s protagonist is portrayed by Oscar-nominated actress Hailee Steinfeld, who discovers that Bumblebee is, of course, no ordinary yellow VW Beetle. John Cena also stars in the movie, as a villainous government agent allied with Sector Seven.
