There may not be a Roseanne without Roseanne Barr, but that may not stop ABC from trying to salvage its ratings hit in some form.

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that network executives are taking meetings for a potential spinoff that doesn’t feature the controversial actress.

The report comes days after ABC canceled the program, which finished its return season as broadcast television’s No. 1 show among total viewers and the key adults 18-49 demographic, just hours after Barr tweeted a racist barb about Valerie Jarrett, an advisor to former President Obama.

On Friday, the gossip site TMZ reported that co-star Sara Gilbert, who plays Roseanne’s daughter Darlene is pitching a series about her character.
