Scott Stapp will play Frank Sinatra in a biopic about Ronald Reagan, according to Billboard. No, that is not an Onion headline.

How the Creed frontman is suited to embody one of the 20th century’s greatest crooners … well, we don’t know. The upcoming film is directed by Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer, Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite!); Dennis Quaid will play the former president.

In a statement, Stapp noted: “Sinatra in performance mode was an exercise in restraint. He had this steely, stylish swagger and his sheer presence commanded a room. I was excited to join the cast and blown away by the on-set attention to detail, style, and overall production.”
