Between the pandemic, natural disasters and an election looming, 2020 continues to be a nightmare, but at last we have something to look forward to: according to Deadline, Andy Samberg, Craig Robinson and Common are slated to star in a superhero comedy called Super High.

As you’ve probably surmised, Super High is a stoner flick “where smoking special weed gives you super powers,” as Deadline notes. There’s no word specifically on what those powers entail, but it seems like they’re expected to be pretty funny; New Line won the rights after a bidding war that resulted in “a seven-figure deal for the script alone with a production commitment included.”

Adam Mansbach, perhaps best known for his book Go the F*ck to Sleep, will write the screenplay based on a story he co-wrote with Shamier Anderson. Anderson will also executive produce the film.

Samberg was most recently seen in the eerily relevant-to-quarantine Palm Springs on Hulu, while Robinson last appeared in Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made and Dolemite Is My Name. Common recently appeared opposite Jessica Chastain in the action-thriller Ava.

There’s no word yet on when production on Super High is scheduled to begin.
