Celebrities may be taking over OnlyFans, but the platform has confirmed Donald Trump is not one of them.
As the president finds himself banned from a growing number of social media platforms including Twitter and Facebook in the aftermath of last week’s Capitol riots, the internet has flooded with largely tongue-in-cheek speculation that Trump might be forced to take his once prolific social media activity to OnlyFans, the subscription platform popularized by sex workers and best known as one of the internet’s last remaining safe spaces for sexually explicit content.
While the speculation about Trump’s pivot to OnlyFans started off as a joke, however, the internet did a collective double take last weekend when Twitter user @jasminericegirl shared a tweet that appeared to show screenshots of a deactivated OnlyFans profile belonging to Trump.
Rumors of Trump’s apparent OnlyFans presence soon spread to TikTok, where a video of a user cackling at the account quickly racked up more than one million views. According to OnlyFans, however, the account in question — which appeared to have been made back in 2017 — does not belong to Trump.
“Donald Trump does not have an OnlyFans account,” a spokesperson for the platform told Insider, adding that “any impersonation profiles have been removed.”
As of Monday, however, OnlyFans had reportedly yet to confirm whether or not Trump is banned from making an account, which means the 45th President of the United States could potentially still join the likes of Cardi B, Bella Thorne and Michael B. Jordan on OnlyFans. The potential reality of a Donald Trump OnlyFans is a haunting, if unlikely prospect, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned over the past few years, it’s that the more outlandish the possibility, the less safely you can rule it out.
