Another Woman Is Suing Harvey Weinstein for Sexual Assault
The convicted rapist is currently serving a 23-year sentence
Yet another woman has accused convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, claiming the disgraced Hollywood producer forced himself on her multiple times over the course of several years in a lawsuit filed Friday.
The latest accuser goes by Jane Doe in the suit, which, according to Variety, was filed under the same federal sex trafficking law other accusers have successfully leveraged against Weinstein. Doe claims she first met Weinstein at the Cannes Film in 2007 when she was a 22-year-old aspiring star. The suit alleges Weinstein lured Doe to his hotel suite under the pretext of discussing her career, only to begin groping and undressing her before she escaped.
In a subsequent encounter, the accuser says Weinstein groped her and masturbated in front of her, and on a third he allegedly “used his considerable size and strength advantage to pin Plaintiff down and rape her,” Page Six reported.
The suit states Weinstein pursued Doe across a variety of cities, flying her to meet him in Paris, New York, Capri and Venice, claiming he would there introduce her to high-powered Hollywood connections.
In 2009, the accuser claims Weinstein flew her and her mother to the Sundance Film Festival where Weinstein allegedly tried to force Doe into a threesome with another woman. After Doe refused, she says she was subsequently blacklisted from events and rejected by agents.
The suit claims Weinstein sexually assaulted the woman again in 2012, made another attempt in 2014 and assaulted her a final time in 2016.
Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year sentence for rape and sexual assault.
