How to Enjoy a Cocktail at the World’s First Glacier Bar

If you can get to Iceland next month, there's a "Puffin Collins" waiting for you

Reyka bar

Your next drink is on ice. A very, very large piece of ice.

Located in the Arctic Circle, the Reyka Vodka Glacier Bar is being touted as the first ever bar on a glacier. Located on top of the Langjökull Glacier in Iceland, it’s a place “where you can sip a Puffin Collins surrounded by narwhals and psychedelic auroras,” according to Reyka’s site.

Also known as the “Long Glacier,” Langjökull is the nearest glacier to Reykjavik, the second-largest glacier in Iceland, and its highest point is 4,757 feet above sea level.

The PR stunt is in line with Reyka’s branding — the vodka is produced in Iceland and sources its water locally from an arctic spring. One of the vodka’s taglines is “Not just made in Iceland…made of Iceland.”

To access the bar, you can enter an online drawing. Winners get an all-expense paid trip to Iceland to experience a drink at the glacier sometime between October 16-20. But if you want to track down the bar yourself, you’re welcome to do so. The coordinates, and entry form, are on Reyka’s website.
