All four members of The Wonders, the fictional band from 1996’s That Thing You Do!, will reunite for the first time on a livestream this Friday (April 17) to help raise money for MusiCares’ COVID-19 Relief Fund and pay tribute to the late Adam Schlesinger, who penned the movie’s beloved title track. (Schlesinger died of COVID-19 on April 1 at the age of 52.)

Tom Everett Scott (who played the jazz-loving drummer Guy Patterson), Johnathon Schaech (who played lead singer Jimmy), Steve Zahn (who played guitarist Lenny) and Ethan Embry (whose bass-playing character is simply and aptly credited as The Bass Player) will all participate in the live watch party, which will stream here at 7 p.m. EST/4 p.m. PST on Friday. Fans will reportedly be able to submit questions for the cast to answer.

Some of the cast tweeted out details about the live stream and promised special surprise guests, and Embry revealed that Liv Tyler, who starred in the movie as Faye Dolan, will also participate in the event. There’s no word on whether or not Tom Hanks, who directed the movie and played the band’s manager, will be involved or not. Hanks, who contracted coronavirus last month while in Australia, recently returned to the States and hosted Saturday Night Live‘s special “SNL At Home” quarantine episode last weekend.
