Chicago rapper Juice WRLD, whose 2018 single “Lucid Dreams” peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, has reportedly passed away at the age of 21.

The artist, real name Jarad Anthony Higgins, suffered a seizure in Chicago’s Midway Airport after deplaning a flight from California early Sunday morning (Dec. 8). Citing witnesses and law enforcement officials, TMZ reports that he had the seizure while walking through the airport and was seen bleeding from the mouth.

Paramedics rushed the still-conscious rapper to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead a short time later. There’s no official word on the cause of death — or what might have caused the seizure — yet.

Tributes to Higgins, who just celebrated his 21st birthday on Monday, have begun pouring in on social media from artists, athletes and other celebrities. Zedd urged his followers to “be kind to one another” in light of the news, while Action Bronson noted that he and Juice WRLD shared a birthday and wrote “Life is precious.”
