Jennifer Aniston is taking today’s charity porn trend and bringing it all the way back to 1995. Earlier this week, the actress took to Instagram to announce her iconic nude portrait by Mark Seliger is one 25 portraits the artist is putting up for auction to benefit COVID-19 relief.
In the black-and-white portrait, shot by Seliger back in 1995, a nude Aniston sits cross-legged, with her hands folded over one knee covering much of her body.
“My dear friend @markseliger teamed up with @radvocacy and @christiesinc to auction 25 of his portraits — including mine 🙂 — for COVID-19 relief,” Aniston wrote in the caption of an Instagram post featuring the image as well as video footage of Seliger handling the photograph in a darkroom.
According to Aniston’s post, 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, an organization providing free coronavirus testing and care nationwide to medically underserved communities and individuals.
The photo was estimated to fetch up to $7,ooo, but the current bid already reached that mark at the time of writing, with the auction lasting through June 12.
The Instagram account for NAFC Clinics responded to Aniston’s announcement in their own post, thanking the actress for selecting NAFC as her charity of choice.
“Thank you again to Mark for allowing me to be part of this,” Aniston wrote in her Instagram caption.
