Wait … Is the World’s Fastest Cornering Supercar Actually Street Legal?

All signs point to yes

To say that James Glickenhaus likes things fast doesn’t really do his need for speed justice.

The director-cum-Wall-Streeter-cum-sports-car-team-owner went from making films like McBain and Shakedown to making millions to making race cars in two shakes of a lamb’s tail.

It should come as no surprise, then, that his company, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, says it has cornered the market on high-speed cornering by producing a car that can reportedly pull more than 2Gs of downforce during turns.

The street-legal version of the SCG003 supercar Glickenhaus unveiled in 2015, the SCG003 Stradale, is powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that gives the carbon fiber vehicle a top speed of 217 MPH and a 0-62 time of less than three seconds.

Production of the 750-HP SCG003S will begin next summer after the car is revealed at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show, and Glickenhaus estimates prices will start at around $1.3 million.

”It’s the culmination of a dream to finally see our amazing race car born again as a road car, using all the know-how we have taken from competing in international races and putting it onto the road,” he told Drive. “This will be a collectable car like no other, capturing the spirit of the road racers that have defined automotive history during the heyday of grand touring.”

And if anyone’s qualified to talk about collectible cars, it’s Glickenhaus.
