We Wouldn’t Kick This Velvet-Wrapped Maserati Out of Bed

Too fast, too fur-ious

People will get their boxers in a bunch about anything.

And while we’re all for auto purists and excellently-kept rides and all, can we not just live a little? Take risks? Break rules? Veer from the norm?

Be happy that somewhere, someone is driving a wildly impractical velvet-wrapped Maserati?

The Maserati Ghibli pictured above was spotted in Monaco’s Casino Square, and we say, “Why not?”

There are loads of impractical adjustments made to cars. Many, in this humble editor’s opinion, far more ghastly and excessive than a little jet-black ball-gown texturing.

And she’s not the first of her kind to go full fuzz — previous velvet wraps include a Ferrari 599, a Porsche Panamera, a Rolls-Royce Phantom DHC and more.

Sure, it might not do so hot in the rain. But if you have a fine a** sportscar and you want to cover it in velvet or Velveeta or whatever the heart desires — more power to you.

They say money can’t buy taste.

But isn’t one of the perks of having some serious F.U. money not caring what they have to say?
