The Station Wagon Is Officially Back, Thanks to … Porsche?
Because you're a family man, but still have a pulse
After close to a decade of family-friendly offerings, it looks like this time Porsche got it right.
To be officially revealed at the Geneva auto show, the second-generation Panamera luxury hatchback has all the practical advantages of a wagoneer, but with helluva lot more looks. Available in four versions: the Panamera 4, with 330 horsepower; the 4S, with 440 horsepower; the 4 E-Hybrid, with 462 horsepower; and the Turbo, with 550 horsepower, each will be in all-wheel drive.

But the Panamera Sport wants the world to know it’s certainly still a Porsche. So while the four-door model offers a silly amount of cargo room, (an extra duffle bag compared to the original) and a 2 + 1 seating arrangment (capable of holding five for the first time), she’s still primed for the Autobahn even with the sunroof open.
The Sport Turbo, for example, pumps out 550 ponies and is capable of 110 pounds of rear axle downforce for stability and traction at top speed. Porsche says the acceleration figures are the same as the Sport Turismo as for the sedan. The Panamera 4 Sport Turismo will do 60 mph in 5 seconds with launch control and the Turbo in 3.4 seconds. Indeed, impressive for a wagon.
For sale in the U.S. and beyond late this year as a 2018 model, expect a starting price of $97,250 for the Panamera 4, $110,250 for the 4S and $155,050 for the Turbo. The E-Hybrid starts at $105,050
