Porsche Is Celebrating 70 Years With This 500HP 911 Concept
Doesn't look a day over 25
Best way to make a birthday wish come true? Grant it yourself.
To celebrate their 70th anniversary — and specifically the 1948 debut of the Porsche 356/1, the original open roadster in spaceship aluminum — Porsche just unveiled the 911 Speedster Concept, a new-school auto outfitted with some very old-school components.

The gorgeous septuagenarian tribute derives its chassis and engine from the 911 GT3 and its body from the 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet, before pumping in a line of early roadster-reminiscent mods. Case in point: a chopped off-speedster roof, coned rearview mirrors and an exposed fuel cap in the back hood. And, importantly: no AC, no radio. Less gizmos, more car.
The best part, though? That color scheme. Two-toned white and storm gray in the front, racing tags along the side and some outsized no. 70 racing livery on the doors.
Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, you speed-limit-averse son of a gun.
