Who needs friends when you’ve got the Polaris RZR RS1?

The Minnesota-based manufacturer announced last week an addition to its already impressive lineup of ATVs a new side-by-side offering built with speed, agility and precision driving in mind. The catch, if you can even call it that: the RZR RS1 is a single-seater.

With a center-cockpit configuration, a monstrous 110-horsepower engine powers the RS1, with a suspension borrowed from the larger RZR XP 100. You don’t have to be a mathematician to punch the numbers: one less seat, more power. In other words: All this vehicle knows is conquering trails at breakneck speed.

Polaris says the seat configuration places you in the “optimal center-of-mass driving position for the ultimate drivers experience.” Which is to say, drivers can expect better sight-lines to oncoming terrain and an all-around more connected experience.

The best part, however, might be the RS1’s price tag. Available now, the driving machine starts at a cool $13,999, which makes the vehicle much more affordable than most adventure off-roaders on the market.

If anything, it’s the perfect excuse for the lone thrill-seeker to hit the trail for some “peace and quiet.”
