Harley-Davidson Is Hell-Bent on Taking Over a Town in North Dakota

Welcome to Ryder, where motorcycles are now law

What’s more badass than getting your very own motorcycle license?

When the whole city you live in also gets their very own motorcycle license.

That’s what’s going down when Harley-Davidson rolls through a town in North Dakota this weekend. With the goal of creating the country’s first fully motorcycle-licensed town, instructors from Harley-Davidson will be riding into Ryder (population: 84)  and trying to teach every eligible driver the basics of motorcycle riding.

The initiative — which is basically an on-the-road version of the H-D Riding Academy service Harley offers at its dealerships — will include the town officially changing its name to “Riders.”

“We’re excited to see several generations of Ryder residents on motorcycles learning together, trying new life experiences and enjoying the beauty of our town and surrounding area like never before,” said Mayor Jody Reinisch.

Ride on, Rider. Ride on.
