The All-Electric KALK Is a Lean, Mean, Clean-Driving Machine

Who you calling 'dirt' bike?

If a dirt bike rips through the forest at 50 MPH, does it make a sound? If the bike in question is the new all-electric KALK from Swedish bike builder Cake, it does not.

Designed for off-roading, the lightweight dirt bike weighs only 150 pounds, while its 2.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is strong enough to provide enough juice for 50 miles of riding.

Crafted from aluminum and carbon fiber, the KALK is completely gearless, and its components — from the wheels down to its suspension — were developed completely from scratch.

“With a clear mission to contribute speeding up the transition towards a zero-emission society, Cake aims to turn the motorized two-wheeled future upside down,” says Cake CEO Stefan Ytterborn. “Light, silent and clean electric off-road motorbikes will make the era of noise, disturbance, pollution and complexity a thing of the past.”

Interested? The KALK is going for $14,000, with a preorder deposit of  $1,000. But you better act fast — the bike is limited to just 50 units.
