When the first Jaguar E-Type (known in the U.S. as the XK-E) was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961, Enzo Ferrari — a direct competitor — called it the most beautiful car in the world.

This one’s better.

Crafted by Eagle, a restoration and customization shop that works exclusively with Jaguar E-Types — including commisioning exclusive custom builds based on the legendary model —the Spyder GT roadster is the fourth special edition that Eagle has built by hand. Featuring a body, engine block and gearbox constructed entirely from aluminum, the Spyder weighs just 2,270 pounds.

An improved version of Eagle’s open-top Speedster, the Spyder GT is equipped with a folding roof to let drivers hit the road regardless of the weather. Fun as well as functional, the Spyder GT’s 4.7-liter engine packs 330 ponies and can blast the car from 0 to 60 in under five seconds.

Add in a 170-MPH top speed, ventilated disc brakes and 16-inch wheels and we’ve got a winner.

“The Spyder GT represents the very best of what we do here at Eagle and we’re thrilled to present it to the world,” Eagle managing director Henry Pearman says of the $875,000 car.

Worth every pence.
