Award-winning menswear designer Todd Snyder and luxury Maine resort Hidden Pond have teamed up to bring us a rustic yet luxurious woodland getaway.

Launched this month, “The From Away Lodge by Todd Snyder” is the designer’s first ever hotel design collaboration, offering a one-of-a-kind stay in one of Hidden Pond’s ten Treetop Lodges, now with a touch of Snyder’s unmistakable style.

If you’re unfamiliar with Hidden Pond, the private luxury Maine resort is secluded amidst 60 acres of serene birch forest in coastal Kennebunkport and is a current favorite getaway for celebrities like Queer Eye’s Antoni Porowski. The award-winning resort’s new Treetop Lodges offer the best of both worlds — high-end accommodations that seamlessly mix rustic indoor and outdoor living.

The new two-bedroom treetop lodge is inspired by Snyder’s latest collaboration with another quintessential Maine brand. The Todd Snyder x L.L.Bean’s Fall 2020 “From Away” Runway Collection, which premiered on the runway back in February, is a contemporary spin on the heritage outdoor brand’s iconic staples and is set to appear in stores this fall.

And like the runway collection, the suite boasts a minimalist, modern design elevated by industrial details, a lively color palette of red, black, green and orange, and ultimately, a uniquely tailored experience.

“My mother was an interior designer, so I really pay attention to design and love a room that has some unique pieces,” Snyder tells InsideHook.

Snyder, in collaboration with local interior designers Louise Hurlbut and Krista Stokes, spent a lot of time searching for unique furniture from 1stdibs — a one-of-a-kind marketplace for antique finds— and updating upholstery with intriguing fabrications in order to create a seamless indoor and outdoor feel. You’ll find traditional outdoor elements together with premium textures and fabrics like camouflage-wallpaper, cushions covered in L.L. Bean’s signature red-and-black plaid fabric, a deer antler wall mount and a front door painted a hunting-inspired blaze orange.

The suite is also Snyder’s homage to the state of Maine and the designer’s first trip to the state, where he was inspired by the people, traditions and quintessential outdoor life.

The art displayed throughout the lodge is locally-sourced from the nearby Corey Daniels Gallery in Wells, Maine explains Snyder.

“We found some vintage Maine memorabilia to help decorate the space, and it’s all complemented by locally authored cocktail guides and a cocktail cart, which can be specialty curated upon request,” he says. “We also partnered with Sea Love Candles to create a bespoke signature scent for the room, to evoke the smell of the woods in Maine.”

Rates for The From Away Lodge by Todd Snyder start at $1,000 per night. You can find more information and book your woodland New England getaway here.
