Five-Star Treehouse Colony in Paradise, Anyone?

They call it "Swiss Family Robinson with electricity"

Looking for a super-luxe stay both off the grid and 30 feet off the ground?

That’s precisely what’s on offer at the Hapuku Lodge, a collection of five-star treehouses on New Zealand’s South Island.

Each of the five available treehouses/rooms hovers 30 feet above a grove of manuka trees. Don’t know what a manuka tree is? Come to New Zealand, and you’ll see that there’s a law forbidding the sale of any foodstuff without it. This is your chance to see how the manuka honey gets made.

Views? Of course. Each one looks over the Pacific. Whales, dolphins, etc.

Luxurious appointments? But of course. Wood-burning fireplace and “rain-fountain” shower on an open deck included.

Traveling with kids? They’ve got you covered, with their “Swiss Family Robinson with electricity” setup, offering bed and board for four people (or five, if no one minds a rollaway).

That said: we advise a couples-only policy.

Enjoy.
