If you’ve shied away from Airbnb and its rivals in favor of five-star hotels, you may be missing out.

As the Wall Street Journal reports, what was once just a simple apartment- or house-sharing platform has ballooned into one where luxury accommodations are being offered—ones that can far outshine their hotel rivals.

The Journal offers a number of options for elite travelers who might be looking for a bit more chic in their non-hotel accommodations. These include BoutiqueHomes, which features 1,000 vetted properties in places like London, Spain, and Croatia; Welcome Beyond, which curates a number of small boutique hotels and vacation homes in 41 countries; and Onefinestay, who visits and vets each home in person and provides guests with amenities like loaner iPhones.

For even more upscale offerings, the Journal suggests companies like UltraVilla, which rents private, luxury villas, chalets, and apartments around the world; The Thinking Traveller, which has 180 properties dotted over Sicily, Corsica, and the Greek isles; and Landmark Trust, which rents nearly 200 “historically significant buildings” in the U.K., France, Belgium, and Italy.
