In Hulu’s new ominous series The Handmaid’s Tale, the near-future looks bleak.
Based on Margaret Atwood’s 1985 literary classic of the same name, the show is set in a world in which women have been rendered infertile, in large part due to the contaminated environment. Those who can bear children are forced to do so for married couples.
The first three episodes of the ominous series will premiere simultaneously online on April 26.
