Did American Amanda Knox murder her British roommate while studying in Italy in 2007? Italian police certainly thought so, as they relentlessly pursued and even convicted her only to have the Italian Supreme Court throw out the verdict in 2015, citing “glaring errors” and “investigative amnesia.”

Yet people will insist an acquittal doesn’t necessarily equal innocence. Did the Italian police, through their sheer incompetence, let a killer go free? Or was their investigation a waste of time all along, harassing an innocent woman and letting the actual guilty party escape punishment?

Netflix’s documentary Amanda Knox addresses our preconceptions head on, with two trailers: one version for those inclined to find her innocent, one for those inclined to go the other way. Ahead of its premiere on September 30, check them out now. This is the innocent version…

…and below is the guilty take.
