Michael Bloomberg: We Must Take Climate Change Into Our Own Hands

The billionaire philanthropist touted his new book, ‘Climate of Hope,’ on the ‘Late Show.’

Billionaire philanthropist and former mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg says that if the federal government won’t address climate change, the people — including businesses and cities — have to.

“It’s something we really should worry about,” Bloomberg told late night host Stephen Colbert, adding that business-minded people should look at addressing the changing climate as an insurance policy.

“There’s a risk, and a businessperson would take appropriate protections,” Bloomberg said. “You don’t think you’re going to die, but you still buy a life insurance policy.”
